A SMS short code is a 5 digit number, provided by mobile network operators, on which data (SMS) can be sent by the consumers of a brand. All incoming sms, to the short code can be made available with full details to the customer.

Dedicated long code is a 10Digit GSM number (of your choice) which is exclusive for you. Here there are no keywords to be set. All the incoming messages will be updated on your server or the CRM tool. The end user will be charged as per his connection plan for the outgoing message to this number. The reply message will have to be through a Push SMS gateway.
